Eligibility Criteria

A child is eligible for care at Huckleberry Health and Development if they meet one or more of the following criteria. 

Medicaid

 The child is enrolled in Medicaid (Apple Health)  or meets the criteria to be enrolled in Medicaid (Apple Health).

Experiencing homelessness

The child and their family are experiencing homelessness. This includes families staying with friends or other family members due to the lack of stable housing.

Low Income

A child qualifies based on income if the child's family

  • Qualifies for the City of Bellingham utility discount program
  • Qualifies for the Opportunity Council utility assistance program
  • Has a gross income below 80% of Bellingham's area median income 

Required documentation

If a child is not enrolled in Medicaid, we require families to certify they meet one of the above criteria prior to starting services.
